“The Gospel” Week 15 Quarterbacks

December 12th, 2007 | by aaron |

This is the time of year when playing certain players could be somewhat tricky for fantasy owners. However, NFL playoff positioning has not been determined yet and the the top quarterbacks will continue to take the field.

Making a mistake on whom you choose to start this week could be devastating for your seasonal leagues and for those of us playing in weekly competitions, the repercussions of drafting the wrong players are, to say the least, frustrating.

Tom Brady: You don’t have to worry about Brady sitting before the Patriots get a huge lead. Not to mention, Belichick wants the record and and everyone seems to keep motivating them to break it. The starters won’t rest much because Belichick believes that if any one of them is injured, someone is there to replace them. Do I have to summarize what Brady will do to the Jets?
Projected Points: 33

Tony Romo: The Cowboys haven’t wrapped up home field yet and playing their division rivalry Philly should keep Romo and the entire Cowboys organization focused. In their first meeting Romo had 324 yards and three touchdowns in Philadelphia.
Projected Points: 29

Drew Brees: In a season where the Saints struggled early, they couldn’t ask for better schedule down the stretch. This week Arizona comes to town and the Saints passing game is on point.
Projected Points: 27

Peyton Manning: People have forgotten Peyton Manning and the Colts so much so that he hasn’t even been a top three quarterback drafted in weekly competitions. This week Indy heads into Oakland and Manning won’t miss a beat.
Projected Points: 26

Kurt Warner: Last week Warner managed 21 fantasy points in a game where he threw five interceptions. This week he’s headed to New Orleans which ranks 29th in pass defense.
Projected Points: 24

Brett Favre: Great match-up for Favre and the Green Bay Packers at this time of the season. Headed to St. Louis Favre should have another big day.
Projected Points: 24

Matt Hasselbeck: Seattle has clinched the NFC West Hasselbeck will stay on the field and continue his excellent play.
Projected Points: 23

Donovan McNabb: In a losing effort in their first meeting with Dallas, McNabb managed 264 yards and one touchdown. Unfortunately, he threw two interceptions and finished with only twelve fantasy points. Things will be different this week in Dallas.
Projected Points: 22

Jeff Garcia: Garcia is expected to start this week and the Bucs are at home against Atlanta. If you have him and you don’t own a top QB, start him.
Projected Points: 20

Sage Rosenfels: Rosenfels has had some big games as a starter this season. However, he’s had a few poor games as well. Do not be fooled by Denver’s 7th overall defense, they have allowed 21 touchdown passes and have recored only 28 sacks.
Projected Points: 19

Derek Anderson: Anderson and the Browns have playoff hopes and the leagues 28th ranked pass defense (Buffalo) comes to town. With Jamal Lewis playing so well, do not fall into the trap of banking too high on Anderson performance.
Projected Points: 18

Jay Cutler: Cutler consistently scores in the high teens and Houston’s pass defense consistently stays mediocre at best.
Projected Points: 18

Carson Palmer: Who knows which Palmer will show up this week. The fact is, Palmer has three games over 20 points this season and we’re still expecting him to do so much more with the weapons around him.
Projected Points: 17

David Garrard: Garrard does not make mistakes and now that the Jags have discovered a real passing game, they will be difficult to stop. However, Garrard may not be a number one option unless you desperately need a quarterback.
Projected Points: 14

Eli Manning: Remains mediocre and his last three games have proven that.
Projected Points: 14

Ben Roethlisberger: In terms of fantasy production Roethlisberger hasn’t played well in close games, losses, or against tough defenses. With the exception of Seattle, all of Pittsburgh’s wins have come against defenses that rank in the bottom third of the league. I simply don’t expect a good game out of Roethlisberger against a physical Jacksonville defense.
Projected Points: 13

Philip Rivers: Rivers appears to have a good match-up against the visiting Lions. However, so does Tomlinson and who’s the better player.
Projected Points: 12

Jon Kitna: San Diego’s overtime win last week may have been what they needed to regain their confidence. Not a good sign for Kitna and the visiting Lions.
Projected Points: 12
