On a Mission!

For the most part of the NFL season many of you have listened to me boast about dominating the DraftMix weekly cash competitions and how it will take a die-hard fantasy buff to beat me and/or compete with me. I guess I didn’t really put it that way, but I sure did feel like Vince Papale (Invincible) and had very good reason to believe that nobody has the ability to stop me. My strategy was far superior, my insight and prophetic abilities gave me an edge, and my overall knowledge of the NFL was light years above and beyond everyone else’s. After sweeping 5 out of 5 leagues during the week of October 7th I started making plans for some sort of fantasy football book deal. Not a annual magazine, but an actual hardback book that fantasy players could utilize for dominance in their leagues or these weekly cash competitions for years to come.
I’m on a Mission!
Then came “The Blogger Challenge” with names like ffgeekblog, Robin Sports, Rotodestroyer, and some online poker genius named stv1313. Somehow I ended up in 5th place behind these guys after having my first overall pick (Tom Brady) score 41 points. I won’t even go into the rest of my lineup and how I finished with a pathetic 93 points, a whopping 29 points behind first place. Guess who invited them? I did! Let me let you all in on a little secret; if you’re ever personally invited to play in any type of competition that involves money; such as poker, fantasy football, tiddly winks, etc. it normally means that you’re an easy mark. Don’t get me wrong that is not the reason I invited these players, but who’s dumb enough to invite a group of professionals? Even if I did have the confidence that I could win I still had to consider inviting different options?
I’m on a Mission!
Ever since the Blogger Challenge I have played in 5 competitions, a 2nd place finish and one first place.
I’m on a Mission!
Last week I didn’t cash and went 0-2 for the week.
I’m on a Mission!
Yesterday a friend of mine placed a side wager laying 2-1 odds that I wouldn’t finish in the top-two in Monday’s freeroll. He actually laid odds against me! I feel like Allen Iverson right now. Practice, you talkin bout practice! Odds, he laid odds! Do you know how insulting that is to me? It’s all in good fun, but as I am writing this I’m befuddled at how anyone could lay odds against “FanProphet”. Odds, he laid odds?
I’m on a Mission!
If I can’t place first or second in a twelve man league with this monstrous lineup, then I guess I’ll have to eat a little more humble pie.
See ya at the Draft-Mix!
