“The Gospel” Week 10 Wide Receivers

November 9th, 2007 | by aaron |

It seems like every week that the wide-receiver position has the most favorable match-ups of the week. Even without Moss and Welker this week quarterbacks and receivers should continue to post excellent numbers.

Remember this is not a start’em sit’em list, but a necessary guide for cash competitions at DraftMix.com or any other weekly fantasy leagues.

Here’s this weeks top fantasy wide-outs.

Plaxico Burress: I don’t even need to go into what Burress did to the Cowboys in week one. After starting out 0-2 the Giants continue to play well and Burress is a huge part of their success. This is a big matchup this week against Dallas and big players have a tendency of playing well in big games.
Projected Points: 21

Terrell Owens: Coming off of a 10 catch 174 yard performance in Philly last week, Owens continues to prove why he’s tops in the NFL. Look for another impressive performance this week in New York.
Projected Points: 20

T.J. Houshmanzedah: Outside of Randy Moss, as a “number 2? Houshmanzadeh is playing as good of ball as any receiver in the league. Even though the Ravens are 2nd in team defense they have allowed 13 touchdown receptions (25th) and have given up a 7 receptions of over 40 yards. Housh will get his this week against an overrated Ravens defense.
Projected Points: 18

Hines Ward: Ward will have a big day against the 32nd ranked defense, Cleveland Browns. The Browns have allowed 20 touchdown receptions this season and Ben Roethlisberger is playing the best football of his career.
Projected Points: 17

Lee Evans: The Dolphins have given up 15 touchdown receptions this season and with J.P Losman playing well and a healthy Lee Evans, the Bills should score plenty of points.
Projected Points: 17

Torry Holt: If the Rams establish any type of running game the Rams wide-outs will have a field day. The Saints are playing better as a team but their defense remains a huge concern.
Projected Points: 16

Braylon Edwards: Anderson and Edwards have hooked up for 9 touchdowns this season and even though the Steelers have only allowed 7 touchdown receptions this season, I just don’t think it’s possible to keep Edwards out of the endzone in consecutive weeks.
Projected Points: 16

Greg Jennings: Minnesota stops the run. Green Bay doesn’t mind that because they can’t run. Minnesota allows 291 receiving yards per game. Jennings and the Packers love that!
Projected Points: 16

Reggie Wayne: After being shut down by New England last week Wayne should see more open looks with Harrison coming back. The Chargers entire defense continues to struggle and that’s bad timing with Indy coming to town.
Projected Points: 15

Marques Colston: After struggling through the first 6 weeks of the season Colston is showing signs of greatness like he did in his rookie season. The trend should continue this Sunday against a below average Rams defense.
Projected Points: 15

Larry Fitzgerald: For receivers in the NFL to have such great seasons this year, Fitzgerald and Boldin have been somewhat of a disappointment. These guys should find success this weekend with Detroit unless the Lions defense is for real.
Projected Points: 14

Roy Williams: Talk about struggling! Williams has been unable to reach double figure fantasy points in his last five games. If he doesn’t turn things around in Arizona then he’ll find himself on my blacklist next week.
Projected Points: 14

Santonio Holmes: Emerging as one of the tops in the NFL. Even though Holmes isn’t Roethlisberger’s main target, he leads all Steelers receivers in fantasy points.
Projected Points: 13

Chris Chambers: Fabiano thinks Chambers is a no show this week. I think otherwise!
Projected Points: 12

Don’t count on it!

Steve Smith: Too many problems at quarterback and Deshaun Foster owns the Falcons.

Dwayne Bowe: Hasn’t done anything in weeks.

Calvin Johnson: Not the rookie season that I was expecting.

Anquan Boldin: One good game this season.
