Tuesday Wire Tap
October 16th, 2007 | by aaron |Yes, the injuries keep piling up and as a result multiple players have opportunities to prove why they are suited up in NFL uniforms. Last week I provided names such as Jason Wright and explained how Jamal Lewis’ foot injury could help Wright “come up big” against the Dolphins. Wright finished the game with 98 total yards from scrimmage and 1 touchdown. I hope you started him in what has become an excellent Browns offense. I also suggested that owners re-acquire Nate Burleson who responded in Week 6 with 63 yards and a touchdown. Other names included Dennis Northcutt and Trent Edwards and even though Edwards was on bye, (due to the vulnerability at the QB position) he should remain as an emergency backup on your roster.
It seems like the waiver wire list is endless for the upcoming week. Who would have ever thought that the 43-year-old Vinny Testaverde would start a week 6 NFL game with the Carolina Panthers? You’re not going to find any future all-pro’s on this list but if you play it right you will find a couple productive spot starters for weeks to come.
