“The Gospel” Week 4 Wide Receivers

September 28th, 2007 | by aaron |

Bruno Boys have done it again with excellent week 4 predictions and if there is one position I absolutely love talking about it’s the wide-receiver position.

Once again I’m here to give you the “skinny” on which Wide Receivers are likely to live up to their expectations, some who are overvalued, and others that should not see the time of day on any owners starting lineup.

Remember, this is not a start em’/sit em’ list, but more of a guide if deciding to play in weekly cash competitions or when making a tough on which players are the better options.

Randy Moss/Terrell Owens: The only two receivers with predicted values over 20 points this week. We will all continue to witness the year of the receivers with Moss and Owens leading the bunch. Once again these two score over 20 against favorable match-ups in Cincinnati and St. Louis respectively.

Steve Smith: Bruno Boys are correct, Smith will bounce back and see at least 17 points this week.

Marvin Harrison: Harrison is certain to find the endzone this week and is likely to hit his predicted point total of fourteen.

Plaxico Burress: Eli has obviously improved and I believe things are only going to get better. Burress is tied for a league leading 5 touchdowns and even though he’s banged up, Burress will certainly score his expected 17 points.

Overvalued!

Donald Driver: Driver may be the person that catches Favre’s record-breaker, but that should be about it in Minnesota this week. His predicted 18 will look more like 12-14 this week.

Javon Walker: What I do know about Walker this season is that he is totally non-existent. It’s either that or he’s not ready to play or an injury is nagging him. Look for another week in single digits.

Torry Holt: Holt will remain on this list of underachievers or overvalued until…whenever. I remember an excited Holt having fun while playing in a run and gun offense. Things don’t look the same this season and Holt’s play is suffering. If he scores 15 points this week I’ll be happy for him, but look for another single digit outing against the Cowboys.

Reggie Wayne: I see a better game out of Harrison this week and Addai will run wild on the Broncos defense. Wayne’s predicted 17 looks more like 12 this week.

Deion Branch: I just don’t see 14 this week out of Branch. Look for a game in the 8-10 point range against an improved 49er defense.

Braylon Edwards: Yeah, the Baltimore defense is not as dominant, but they own the Browns. If Edwards scores his predicted 14 points I’ll be shocked. Otherwise, look for a game in single digits.

Anquan Boldin: Before Boldin’s 30 point explosion last week he had games of 9 and 8 points respectively. Look for another game in single-digits or low double-digits.

Undervalued!

Housh/Chad Johnson: I have to put these two together this week because without Rudi, they are the only answer for the Pats explosive offense. More than likely it will be a frustrating day in Cincy, but this dynamic duo will get theirs. Their combined 31 points looks more like 40 plus in Monday’s Fantasy Game of the Week.

Santonio Holmes: How much does his point production go up if Ward doesn’t play. Holmes and his predicted 7 points is too low so expect in the neighborhood of 14 this week in Arizona.

Nate Burleson: While others are receiving the attention Burleson is receiving the ball and the looks over the past two weeks from Hasselbeck. Another relatively low prediction of 7 points, but with Seattle’s ailing run game Burleson finds the endzone and 70+ yards again this week.

Roy Williams: Roy reaches this list by default this week considering he shut me up against the Eagles. Chicago ailing and Detroit unable to stop anyone this game is another shootout and Williams flys above his predicted 16 points.

Kevin Curtis: Even though we cannot expect a repeat of last weeks performance, we can expect a game better than 13 points from Curtis. As it stands, Curtis is McNabb’s only outside threat and one that he will certainly use. Look for a week in the 16-18 point range.

Larry Fitzgerald: Fitzgerald gets things going this week while finding paydirt and over 90 receiving yards. Look for a total at or around 15-17 points this week.
