“The Gospel” Week 3 Wide Receivers

In last weeks series of “The Gospel” Wide Receivers and Running Backs is where I found the most success.

This could very easily be the year of the receiver as we have seen RB’s struggle. Take a look at week 2 wide receivers.

We all know that the Bruno Boys are good, their calculations are good, their rankings are good, and they write excellent articles. By using their ranking system lets take a look at which receivers will live up to their expectations, others who will likely disappoint, and a few who will definitely surprise during week three.

There are quite a few that I agree with (Smith 24, Moss 22, Chad 22, and Harrison 20) this week especially in the upper-echelon WR’s. However, there are quite a few that will not live up to their expectations based on their situations and matchups.

Overvalued!

Reggie Wayne: Against the Texans this week if Addai, Harrison and Manning are all expected to perform at a high level that doesn’t leave much room for Wayne’s predicted 18 points. Look for a point production of 10-12 this week.

Torry Holt: Tampa solves the pass coverage problems this week and Holts predicted 18 will fall in the neighborhood of 12-14 on the road this week.

Roy Williams: Roy Williams may find himself on this list quite a few times this season. For Williams to produce the predicted 16 points this week will mean 100 yards and a touchdown. I don’t see it happening on the road, but I do envision 12 points.

Marques Colston: I’m still not a believer in Colston and with the Saints playing like garbage I just don’t see 16 points this week. This may be the week the Saints get the running game going, but who knows. A maximum of 12 for Colston on Monday Night.

Santana Moss: I have never been sold on this Moss and last weeks performance will not be repeated. Look for a mediocre game somewhere between 5-8 points.

Undervalued!

Terrell Owens: As we all know, Terrell Owens loves big games with lots of recognition. A predicted 18 points looks more like 22-24 this week.

Joey Galloway: Look for another big week out of Galloway and a point total in the high teens/low twenties.

Javon Walker: Look for a big day on Sunday out of Walker. His predicted 13 should look more like 18-20 points against an inconsitent Jags defense.

Calvin Johnson: I know it’s easy to predict a low point production for a rookie receiver. However, Johnson is not your typical rookie and he will once again find a touchdown and over 100 receiving yards. Look for 16-18 fantasy points.

Santonio Holmes: Predicted 7 points, but Holmes finds paydirt and goes over 80 receiving yards. Look for a point production of over 13 points this week.

Nate Burleson: I’m starting him! If you have him you better do the same.
