“The Gospel” Week 2 Quarterbacks
September 12th, 2007 | by aaron |More “Gospel” this week concerning The Bruno Boys and their weekly edition of fantasy quarterback rankings. Last week wasn’t bad as I figured Eli, Delhomme, and ”Big Ben” would have great games and Jeff Garcia would disappoint. My Favre and McNabb prophecy was lets say…..off, but then again, who didn’t figure that Favre and McNabb would engage in an early season shootout? I think I made up for that by Tom Brady going well over the 21 points predicted.
Lets take a look at “sure bet” quarterbacks, a couple that should not be underestimated, and a few more that you better think twice about before starting.
Value Bets!
Peyton Manning: Well, if you have a backup this may be the week to start him. Yeah right, even if you knew Manning would have the worst game of his career you would never sit him. Rest assured he will hit The Bruno Boys prediction of at least 24 points.
Jay Cutler: Predicted to only produce 16 points by the Bruno Boys standards, but they are playing an Oakland team at home. Wait a minute, didn’t Jon Kitna just torch this defense last Sunday? Look for at least low twenties as Cutler will be the main source of the Broncos offensive production.
Jake Delhomme: I think he’s back to leading this franchise and playing up to his capabilities. Some good quarterbacks have off seasons (2006), but when you have Steve Smith as a go to guy, rest assured that Delhomme will produce. Well over the predicted 15 points this week at home against the Texans. Low Twenties!
Carson Palmer: How could Palmer not rack up at least 25 against Cleveland. Right on, Bruno Boys!
Drew Brees: I just don’t see it happening on the road for Brees this week. Everything sounds good and looks good for Brees, but after his showing in Indy and horrible play calling, I do not see Brees reaching 21 points this week. I’ll give him fourteen, but even that’s enough to keep him in your starting lineup.
Jon Kitna: Even though the Lions are playing a tough Minnesota defense I think it’s safe to say that The Bruno Boys are correct again with a predicted 21 points for Kitna.
Donovan McNabb: Will rebound! Rest assured that Donovan, Brown, and Westbrook will own this Washington defense. An estimated 18 points, but look for low twenties.
Don’t Underestimate!
David Garrard: Look for the Jags running game to improve this week in Atlanta while helping Garrard become more effective than last week. Garrard will produce above the projected 13 and approach the neighborhood of 18-19 points.
Vince Young: Vince will give this Indy defense fits and keep Tennessee in the game for at least 3 quarters. A projected 12 points, but Young will hit high teens this week.
Phillip Rivers: Twelve points is too low for Rivers this week, therefore, go ahead and start him and look for a productive game of at least 17 points.
Don’t even think about it!
Rex Grossman: This K.C. defense would entice owners to consider starting Charlie Frye in his first week in the Bay area. Don’t even think about it. Grossman may throw a touchdown, but this Bears defense will create a short field and their running back tandem will have a field day. Look for less than the predicted 14 points. Grossman will not see +10 points.
Matt Leinart: Not yet! A few more games and you will feel comfortable playing Leinart all season long. Less than thirteen this week.
Matt Schaub: Don’t believe the hype, Schaub is on the road this this week facing a real defense in Carolina. Which means, 15 points is an impossible number. If you plan on starting him….don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Nice…I like the call on VY. I like Garrard but I think the Jags will try to run the ball all game long, so barring a running score or two from Garrard it could be a weak outing for him.
