“The Gospel” Week 1 Quarterbacks

September 9th, 2007 | by aaron |

Once again using The Bruno Boys’ fantasy ratings and point predictions I am continuing this excellent series and giving you “The Gospel” on which players are dead on, overvalued, and those who are way over their heads in trouble.

If you’re playing in any weekly cash leagues this series is one that will not disappoint.

Value Bets!

2. Donovan McNabb: I had a person ask should they start McNabb or Cutler for week one. If I would’ve been thinking I would’ve linked them to this site. I really like McNabb as the #2 fantasy QB producer for week one. Bruno Boys have him scoring 22 for the week and give or take a point or two, I believe this is a bullseye.

3. Tom Brady: Now that I know Randy Moss is off of the injury report I would have to add about three points to the 21 already predicted.

5. Jon Kitna: Even though Kitna is my fantasy QB in two different leagues these 20 points are relatively high. However, I  must agree!

6. Brett Favre: If Favre has one good game this season it will be during week one. The Bruno Boys have him scoring in the high teens (18) but I have Favre scoring in the low twenties (22).

9. Matt Leinart: Sixteen is a little too low considering this is a Monday Night game and such a high-powered Arizona offense. I know that it’s a little to early to get all of the predictions correct, but for those of you who have Leinart you better make a last minute substitution and benefit from these 20 points.

Don’t underestimate!

15. Ben Roethlisberger: This is a game where Ben will be given easy opportunities to throw a few confidence boosting touchdowns. Excellent start for Ben considering he never hit stride last season. The Bruno Boys have him scoring only 14, but I see him approaching the 20 point mark.

20. Eli Manning:  This is an improved Eli and I look for a few more than the 13 points given.

21. Jake Delhomme: I would almost guarantee that Delhomme is not a week one starter on any fantasy roster. However, Steve Smith did not go any lower than the top 5 receivers. It won’t get any better than this week in St.Louis for Delhomme. Greater than the unlucky 13 that The Bruno Boys predicted.

26. Phillip Rivers There is always something to prove in the NFL and Rivers and these San Diego Chargers will do just that on Sunday. Rivers shines in this game and goes way above 11 points.

Don’t even think about it!

Jeff Garcia: Not this week! Garcia has to prove to me that he can turnaround a historically futile offense. If Garcia reaches the 14 points predicted, then it will be his best game of the season. Single digits!

I agree Eli could surprise and is a bit under valued - I also like Roethlisberger this year but particularly this week vs. Cleveland. The new offensive system will spread the ball and take advantage of their speed.
