Making the Correct Decision (Moss or Wayne)
August 15th, 2007 | by aaron |This is one match up that should create somewhat of a stir in your upcoming fantasy draft. The correct decision is imperative and will definitely make a difference in your win/loss column.
Some people may say that in the year 2007 this is a no-brainer. Wayne is the obvious choice. Moss is washed up. Brady will continue to spread the ball around to multiple options and Manning will begin to utilize Wayne as his primary target as Harrison heads towards retirement. However, who says Randy Moss will not be an integral part of the New England offense?
Wayne arguably plays on the most prolific offense with the best quarterback in the NFL and a team defending a Super-Bowl title. On the other hand, Moss plays with a “pretty decent” quarterback himself and is now New Englands primary receiving target and the one element which should propel the Patriots back into the Super-Bowl. However, the question remains; does Moss still possess the ability to make defenses lose sleep at night? And, will Wayne with the weapons around him maintain the high-level of play that we have all grown accustomed to watching?
I really didn’t want to have to tackle this one by myself. There is no question that Reggie Wayne is a great receiver and playing alongside Peyton Manning he should have another 90 catches, 1200 yards, and 8 touchdowns. However, I do believe that Moss is back, wants to win, and will return as one of the top receivers in the league. Therefore, Moss is the correct decision as we will once again see Randy leading in yards and touchdown receptions.
You make the correct decision!
