Arizona Cardinals

How about we just turn on the Xbox, use the NFC West to draft our fantasy rosters, turn in our starting lineups, then play a round robin fantasy tournament using Madden stats. Well, that is exactly how this division will play out this season and a big part of this offensive production will come from these Arizona Cardinals.

Edgerrin James: Many people believe ‘Edge’ will bounce back after having a sub-par 2006 season and lets hope so because it was the worst of his professional career. He may never post another 1800 yard 18 Td season but with this years improvement on the offensive line, 1400 and 10 doesn’t seem unattainable for this 9th year veteran. Maybe not a first option RB on your roster, but definitely a two.

Matt Leinart: Leinart had a couple of impressive performances last season and showed the world that he is ready and able to play at a high-level in the NFL. Look for continued improvement this season as Leinart will have better pass protection, an improvedrunning game, and consistent play from one of the better receiving tandems in the league. Do not be surprised if Leinart is mentioned as a pro-bowl candidate.

Larry Fitzgerald: Fitzgerald has already shown signs of superstar in this league with the exception of last year where he posted just 69 catches and 6 TD’s. However, he only played in 13 games and with the improvement of Leinart look for Larry to have similar numbers to his ‘05′ season where he posted 1400 and 10 TD’s.

Anquan Boldin: A quality receiver capable of catching 100 balls and posting a 1200-1500 yard season. Considering this offense will probably play from behind for the most part of the season Boldin is worthy of a draft selection. However, he will not see the endzone as many times as his counterpart Fitzgerald, but he should not go too far behind Fitzgerald in your draft.

DEFENSE: Not worth mentioning in any fantasy scenario, but this defense adds value to every offensive player on this Cardinals roster.

Neil Rackers: Ranked tied for 7th in 2006 and with this offense improving look for many opportunities from Rackers one of the better kickers in the league.

Time to do a little editing! I just found this to prove my point.

I think Boldin may surprise. Whisenhunt has already called him his Hines Ward, so he’ll likely be featured. There has also been some issues between the new coach and Fitzgerald…but Fitz is so physically gifted that’s its difficult to believe he won’t get his share of looks.
