Buffalo Bills
May 31st, 2007 | by aaron |It sure won’t get any better for these Buffalo Bills heading into the 2007 season. With a strength of schedule that ranks as the 2nd toughest in the NFL, there are two ways to look at this situation.
1) The Bills will accrue an assortment of injuries thus, causing a cumulative effect of ill-production throughout the entire offense.
2) The Bills offense will play from behind throughout most of the season, therefore, you will accumulate countless fantasy points during garbage time from the quarterback and the wide-receiver positions.
With the exception of the Browns and Skins every opponent the Bills face this season has the potential of making the playoffs.
J.P. Losman: Has improved every season and contrary to what others think (I never think), I believe Losman is the #1 fantasy point producer for this struggling franchise. The Bills will play from behind in most games this season which translates into multiple pass attempts from this 4th year quarterback. Not your first option at the quarterback position, but worth consideration in later rounds.
LYNCH/A. THOMAS: I absolutely love the explosiveness of the rookie Marshawn Lynch, however, the only problem is fantasy owners need yards and touchdowns to accumulate points. Do not expect more than 15 carries per game for the rookie. Lynch was drafted 12th overall for a reason (not this season), so until the Bills improve, look for him to split time with Anthony Thomas. Thomas will carry most of the physical punishment and tough yards in between the tackles.
Peerless Price: What I see here is a player waiting for retirement. It was only a few seasons ago when Price was a great 2nd receiver alonside Eric Moulds, and put of tremedous numbers. Price quickly found out in Atlanta that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. The situation I like here is if Price comes ready to play, you have the oppotunity to utilize him as a second or third WR option and pick up quality fantasy points.
LEE EVANS: Here’s their number one option at the receiver position. Evans is coming off of a career season in yards and has averaged 8 endzone appearances in each of his first three seasons. Expect improvement and many opportunities to pick up garbage points if Losman stays healthy.
RIAN LINDELL: Considering the Bills will play from behind in most games, I don’t see much value in this position. However, Lindell was worth mentioning before the defense and the offensive tackle that the Bills have disguised in the tight-end position. Fourth quarter with 11 minutes to play and down thirteen, I wouldn’t anticipate many field goal opportunities.
DEFENSE: In a 10-12 team league this defense is not even worth a draft choice. Don’t waste you time.
Tight End(s): Either the Bills field ten on the offensive side of the ball or they lineup a tackle disguised at the tight-end position. Who are these guys?
