FANTASY SOCCER

May 22nd, 2007 | by aaron |

I have often wondered how the most popular game in the world, futbol (soccer in the U.S) is being played in a fantasy format. In American sports such as basketball, baseball, and football there are multiple ways of scoring. In soccer (don’t mean to offend anyone with that word) how would you format scoring? Would scoring be based on goals alone? Would you use a weekly or game by game scoring system. How do you keep it interesting and absolute fan involvement? For those of you who are fantasy enthusiasts and have a fantasy futbol scoring format or a league you play in, let me know.

i play fantasy football (soccer). english premier league. i play on yahoo.

you pick a team of 11 players every week. you can choose your formation. 442, 352 or 343. with 1 keeper. you get points for goals, assists, shots on target, successful crosses and a few more. defending stats are things like clean sheets, tackles, blocked shots, intercepted passes, and a few more. you will lose points for yellow and red cards, fouls, penalties committed. keepers get points if there team win, a bit less for a draw and lose points for a loss. they get points for clean sheets and saves and a few more. keepers lose points for letting in goals and for receiving cards.

it’s a good game. i was a big fan of it about a year ago, but i missed 1 week (and got 0 pts) and after that i just lost my motivation
